Each year, Children’s Week is a powerful reminder of the importance of celebrating, listening to, valuing, and empowering our children. It’s a time to come together to recognise the vital role we all play in protecting and promoting the rights of children and young people.

About the Awards

The Children’s Week Awards celebrate outstanding contributions to children’s rights and wellbeing across Queensland. These awards honour individuals, groups, and organisations who go above and beyond to create lasting change for children and young people.

This year, there are four award categories:

🏆 Young Change Maker Award

For an outstanding contribution and commitment to the promotion and advocacy of children’s rights in Queensland by a young person or group of young people.
Know a young person (or a group) who is raising their voice for children’s rights or leading a project that creates positive change? Nominate them today!

🏆 QFCC Commissioner’s Award for Community Engagement

For excellence and dedication to inspire collective action and strengthen community connections to champion and advance children’s rights.
This award recognises those bringing people together to build stronger, more child-friendly communities.

🏆 Children’s Rights Champion of the Year

For outstanding leadership in promoting and safeguarding children’s rights in Queensland.
This is for the trailblazers—the tireless advocates making a big impact in children’s lives across the state.

🏆 Children’s Rights Education Award

For exceptional dedication and achievement in educating others about children’s rights in Queensland.
From schools to community spaces, this award celebrates those spreading awareness and knowledge of children’s rights in creative and meaningful ways.

This event brings together communities, leaders, and changemakers to launch Children's Week.
