Children’s Rights Queensland - Terms and Conditions for ECEC Grant Applications
These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you,” or the “Applicant”), and Children’s Rights Alliance Inc. trading as Children’s Rights Queensland (“we,” “us,” or “our”), in connection with your application for a grant through the ECEC Children’s Rights Grants Program.
By submitting your grant application, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you are
1. Eligibility and Purpose of Grant
1.1 Eligibility: To apply for funding from Children’s Rights Queensland (CRQ), you must:

Be an Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) service located in Queensland

Deliver programs or activities for children in early learning settings
Ensure that your proposed project aligns with CRQ’s mission to promote children’s rights in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)
1.2 Purpose: The funds awarded are to support projects that:
- Embed children’s rights into early learning environments through practical, age-appropriate activities
- Support children to understand and express their rights, voices, and participation
- Enable educators to deliver experiences that promote inclusion, agency, and respect for children’s rights
- Engage children and, where appropriate, families in meaningful activities that reflect children’s rights in practice
2. Grant Application Process
2.1 Application Submission: Applications must be submitted through the official CRQ application process. All required fields must be completed truthfully and accurately.
2.2 Grant Approval: Successful applicants will be notified in writing. CRQ reserves the right to approve or reject any application at its sole discretion and to award any number of grants.
3. Grant Requirements and Conditions
3.1 Project Execution: If your application is successful, you agree to:
- Deliver the proposed project within the approved project delivery period
- Use the grant funds only for the purposes outlined in your approved application
- Ensure activities are appropriate for early childhood settings and support children’s participation and engagement
- Notify CRQ of any significant changes to the project scope, timing, or delivery
3.2 Reporting and Documentation:
- You agree to complete and submit a brief report via an online form at the conclusion of your project. The report should outline the project's outcomes and provide evidence of how it met the objectives set out in your original proposal.
- You must provide three (3) high-quality photos of the event or project, along with consent from individuals in the photos for their use by CRQ.
3.3 Promotion:
- You agree to include the CRQ logo on all promotional materials for your project/celebration.
3.4 Attendance and Insurance:
- You must provide an accurate attendance number for your project or event.
- Ensure your project is covered by public liability insurance.
3.6 Financial Documentation:
- You must retain receipts or invoices as proof of expenses, should CRQ deem this necessary for reimbursement or funding verification.
4. Indemnification and Liability
4.1 Indemnity: By applying for and receiving a grant from CRQ, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless CRQ and its agents from any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and costs that arise out of your project or celebration, or any negligent act or omission, or willful misconduct by you, your employees, contractors, or agents.
4.2 Liability: You agree that CRQ will not be held liable for any issues, problems, or incidents that occur prior to, during, or after the delivery of your project.
5. Modifications and Withdrawal of Support
5.1 Modifications: Any changes or variations to the approved celebration or project must be submitted in writing and approved by CRQ prior to implementation.
5.2 Withdrawal of Support: CRQ reserves the right to withdraw support from any project at any time if it is determined that the project poses risks to individuals or to the CRQ brand, or if the terms of the agreement are not being adhered to.
6. Compliance with Laws
You agree to comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by CRQ in the execution of your project or celebration. This includes, but is not limited to, adhering to children’s safety standards and promoting the values outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
7. Confidentiality and Data Use
7.1 Confidentiality: All information provided by the applicant in the grant application process is confidential and should not be disclosed to any third party unless required by law or expressly permitted by CRQ.
7.2 Data Use: By submitting your application, you consent to the use of information and photos for promotional and reporting purposes, including sharing project outcomes with stakeholders and the general public. You agree to only share images that have consent from individuals pictured.
8. Variation and Termination
8.1 Variation: CRQ reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to the Applicant.
8.2 Termination: CRQ may terminate the grant agreement if you breach any of these Terms and Conditions. In such cases, you may be required to return any grant funds awarded.
9. Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved through mediation or arbitration, as deemed appropriate by CRQ.
