Hello, YOU! is a new children’s picture book developed by Children’s Rights Queensland in partnership with the Queensland Child Protection Week team. Created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Child Protection Week in Queensland, the book is written by Dannika Patterson and illustrated by Amanda Letcher.
Through a joyful rhyming story, Hello, YOU! introduces young readers to the many people who help children feel safe, cared for and supported. From family members, teachers and coaches to doctors, nurses and lifeguards, the book celebrates the trusted adults who make up every child’s village.

Meet the Author: Dannika Patterson
Dannika Patterson is a Brisbane-based author and presenter with degrees in psychology and journalism. She has written numerous books for children, including Jacaranda Magic, Scribbly Gum Secrets, Zoom and Hedgehog the Wonder Dog. Her children’s book titles are used widely as resources in Australian homes and schools, helping open relatable conversations about important topics.
Dannika enjoys visiting schools, libraries and festivals to share her books and story-driven workshops, where she uses her skills to educate, empower and inspire children in a warm, joyful way.
