ECEC Grants Program

Children’s Rights Queensland is delivering an inaugural grants program to support Early Childhood Education and Care Services to deliver events or projects that promote awareness of children’s rights.
ECEC Grants Program with Children

Children's Rights Grants

Children’s rights are the fundamental rights of every child, as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), recognising that children should be safe, supported, included, and heard.

In Queensland, this is supported by frameworks such as the Child Safe Standards developed by the Queensland Family and Child Commission, which promote safe and inclusive environments for children.

Our Children’s Rights Grants provide small grants to Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services that will enable educators and services to engage children and families in meaningful conversations about children’s rights.

Grants of up to $500 are available to support initiatives, projects and events.

Applications will close Friday 15 May 2026.

This initiative is proudly supported by the Queensland Department of Education

What are children’s rights?

Children’s rights are the fundamental rights of all children, as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). These rights recognise that children should be safe, supported, and able to participate in decisions that affect them.

In early childhood settings, children’s rights are reflected in everyday practices that support children’s wellbeing, inclusion, and voice.

In Queensland, this is also supported by frameworks such as the Child Safe Standards, which guide organisations to create safe and inclusive environments for children.

Projects funded through this grant help bring children’s rights to life in practical, age-appropriate ways within early learning environments.

How can I contact Children's Rights Queensland about my application?
