Authorised Use of the Children's Week Logo

Purpose

 The Children’s Rights Alliance Inc., trading as Children’s Rights Queensland (CRQ), oversees the trademarked Children’s Week (CW) logos use in Queensland, ensuring its ethical and appropriate use across all related events and activities that reflect the mission and values of CRQ. The logo serves as a symbol of unity and commitment to promoting and celebrating children's rights.

Commencement

This policy takes effect from 1 July 2025 and supersedes all previous policies, whether documented or not.

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Leadership Team
  • Executive
  • Employees
  • Contractors
  • Volunteers
  • Organisations and members of the public.

Definitions

  • Children’s Week Logo: The official logo of Children’s Week, a trademarked design that includes the words "Children’s Week" and is authorised for use by CRQ and other approved bodies that apply for a grant or deliver a registered Children’s Week event, celebration or project. The logo is shown in Appendix 1.
  • Authorised Bodies: Organisations or entities granted permission by CRQ to use the Children’s Week logo for designated events and activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Executive and Leadership Team: Ensure compliance with the policy, provide strategic oversight, and monitor usage of the logo.
  • Volunteers, Employees and Contractors: Promote child safety, uphold the integrity of the logo’s use, and adhere to this policy during Children’s Week.
  • Members of the public: Comply with the usage specifications of the Children’s Week logo.

Policy Statement

At Children’s Rights Queensland, we are committed to the responsible use of the Children’s Week logo. The logo must only be used for events and activities that align with our values of promoting child safety, celebrating the rights of children, and fostering child-friendly environments. CRQ retains the exclusive right to authorise and manage the use of the logo by authorised bodies.

The use of the Children’s Week logo is subject to the following conditions:

  • It must only be used by authorised bodies who have registered a project, event or celebration on the CRQ website or received a grant.
  • The logo cannot be used for commercial purposes or any event that promotes for-profit activities.
  • All events using the logo must:
    • Be child-safe, child-friendly, and promote the rights of children.
    • Be free of alcohol, smoking, and illicit substances.
    • Celebrate children’s talents, achievements, and contributions to society.
    • Recognise and support parents, carers, and all individuals contributing to child wellbeing.

Breaches of this policy

Non-compliance with this policy by any team member may result in investigations, corrective actions, disciplinary measures (e.g., warnings or termination), or reporting to relevant authorities. Breaches must be reported promptly via the Contact Us form on our website.

CRQ may take appropriate action in response to breaches, starting with a resolution attempt at the State or Territory level and, if unresolved, escalating to the Children’s Week Council of Australia (CWCoA) who reserve the right to take legal action. Failure to use the logo appropriately may see an organisation lose future authorisation from CRQ to hold an event, project or celebration and receive a grant.
